No sex, no sex video. I was about to say period. Case closed. However, looking at the other side of the incidents about sex videos (or “intimate” video) that spread like wild fire on the internet, apart from the “no sex, no sex video” mentality, the absence of technology that has a capability to record videos also means there would be no sex video. In short, two (or more) parties could have sex and they will never be caugt on tape BUT the video-recording function of even the simplest cellphone exists and remains a menace to potential victims.

I feel sad for those women who became victims of sex video scandals. They’re not an AV-idol like Maria Ozawa. Some women even did it with that person for the first time — all recorded for all the denizens of the WWW to see and hopefully, ignore — without their knowing it. Sexy star or not, these videos affect the private and the not-so-private life of individuals as they helplessly get all the shame (and fame, in a bad way) as the videos go out of hand. The people’s perceptions about them could change and the victims have no control over what people would think and say about them.

So here’s the catch:
Video-recording gadget + sex = sex video
better yet, no sex, no sex video.

Better safe than sorry. There may not be a Peeping Tom or a Sneaky Swiper around but it pays to be sure. Better yet, just don’t do it. (Sorry, Nike)

• Have a graceful exit (err, graduate)
• Get a job (me, teaching? Yeah)
• Meet new people (wait for me, future students!)
• Play online games (again)
• Read books (aside from thrillers)
• Watch movies on the big screen (Sorry, iPod/PC)
• Attend concerts (Something Western this time)
• Go to new places (I don’t know where)
• Talk more (get out of that shell!)
• ???

It’s still early to anticipate the other things because I’ll know more about what’s yet to come in the next few months. This year has to be exciting. And this is not necessarily a new years resolution.

So here’s what happened:

• started reading books while still being an online reader
• skipped a class just to buy chocolates and flowers for a pal (as requested by her boyfriend)
• attended Super Junior and 2NE1′s concert in Manila
• survived junior college and is barely surviving the last term as a senior
• successfully kept my cat
• went to Makati — more than 3x
• taught 1st year high school students in a public school for almost 40 days
• played ragnarok online with someone who works in KK (not IRL)
• met an old friend*
• watched a lot of discounted movies
• gave my account in Dance Battle Audition PH to a student
• met an untimely experience
• cosplayed as Chang-O (Chinese Moon Goddess) and got exposed in public
• watched fireworks display aside from the ones here during Chinese New Year
• let go of two sim cards
• wasted three cellphones
• represented our team for the debate tournament during the English Week
• bought a lot of books (thank you, Booksale)
• attended lecture-forums here and there
• almost died when two large 8-wheeler trucks nearly sandwiched me to death along Taft Avenue
• met Eros Atalia and watched “Ligo na U, Lapit na Me”
• had my picture taken — a lot
• started playing TinierMe
• thought of the future too much

There are many others that are not that important but most of all…I TRIED TO GET A LIFE and I am successful.
